As already mentioned, it really depends on the years and mileage. You can get a used 08, $ 09 for about 3000-3500 and probably less if you really do your research and you can negotiate the price list. The pre-2008 models have a completely different design, but you can get for much cheaper. I would recommend that you check your local listings on Craigslist to see what is available in your area.
I have a hand between 09 and 2000 miles $ 3900 from a private provider. You can lower, but be sure to also research and make sure the bike is in good condition, no major shocks, etc.
Also, remember, the money you need to put the property transfer, possibly paying the renewal of registration and taxes.
I just saw that you are in the UK, so the prices can be quite different in the European version, the fuel is injected.
